We will do something outside of TGS.

tgs03
As PLAYISM has already announced, we will hold an event like this.
http://www.playism.tv/blog/?p=604

Just to let you know, Naramura is one of the hosts.

It costs us a lot to exhibit at TOKYO GAME SHOW such as travel, accommodation and equipment fees. It is difficult to make that money for Japanese indie game developers. So, some developers of our acquaintances gave up on joining it for that reason. It is also impossible for us to attend TGS with all members. Then, we decided to hold the event as we thought we’d better to set another purpose other than TGS. The plan was getting pumped up while I am unaware.

We, who are trying to enter the global market, are keenly aware of walls which can’t smash by individual. In fact, this is a circumstance that we think it is essential for indie game developers to unite in order to spread Japanese indie games to the world, however we can’t afford to run such a unity.

Here comes TOKYO GAME SHOW.

Some developers come from overseas though, it must be gathered conscious people who are eager to spread their own games into the world. No way we miss this opportunity. We’d like to appeal to indie game developers who exhibit at TGS or only drop by TGS.

Originally, it is not NIGIRO’s proposal. Mr. Agarie from NYAMYAM, who is now making TENGAMI, call up the idea and I went along with it. We suggested this plan to companies, then, the event is brought to realization.

Now, we take action as we are likely to shrivel up ourselves if we just wait movement of our surroundings or game industry. I think we would publish more information that we won’t do even at TGS. Unfortunately, this event is open for limited people such as indie game developers, media reporters and publishers. Be sure to come to the event if you are eligible. I just face the event like “Let’s drink with us”, because I’m not well-prepared yet.

Be invited to a seminar

TGS2013-02

I wonder if it is because we passed Greenlight or I had a speech at GDC.
I was invited to various events in this year despite we are not mentioned much when they talk about indie games in Japan.

Now, indie games are getting attention all over the world. I am invited as a speaker to the seminar at business day of TOKYO GAME SHOW partly because of the installation of indie game booths at coming TGS.

Can we make a living out of making indie games?! / The latest situation of Japanese independent games (tentative title)

That seminar is not open to the public, but I will take advantage of the stage to speak whatever I want to say.

TOKYO GAME SHOW 2013

TGS2013-01
Indie game booths will be installed at coming TOKYO GAME SHOW 2013.

TOKYO GAME SHOW is basically an exhibition of console games. It was less attractive for us and we just expected to have chances to meet our fans who live around Tokyo. To tell the truth, we have not gone to TOKYO GAME SHOW since we did not attach importance to that.

However, we decided to join it this time because we can exhibit something as an indie game developer. So, we are making plans since it is a rare opportunity.

We don’t have enough reason and budget to participate for all days. Then, we are going to exhibit at an indie game booth on public exhibition days, September 21 (Sat) and 22 (Sun).

We think that people who are very interested in indie games would only come there because that place is not only far from the main site but also across the street from the main site. So, we will do what we would like to.

Now, we are trying hard to work on our exhibits and we will display the playable demo of the new project. We will make something to hand out because selling something on the site is forbidden.

We welcome reporters whenever they would like to come and stay longer because I think the booths for indie games will be more quiet than the main site.

Announcement of the suspension of our new game

shooting
We actually have not announced anything about our new game on this NIGORO website
though, we decided to suspend the development of our new shooting game which we briefly mentioned in interviews, speeches and exhibitions. We are so sorry for that.

Various reasons came up and it is close to a next big event. Tokyo game show 2013 is coming soon. We have to proceed another plan in order to anticipate our activities in next year.
It is the same sort of thing that we published our flash games “SPACE CAPSTAR II” and “Lonely house-moving” in reverse order long time ago.

The shooting game is almost settled as a plan. We are going to move into action again after the new plan. Guess what we are carrying out aside from new shooting game?

You will see it in Tokyo game show 2013.
See ya!

The 7th anniversary of LA-MULANA

As we posted on 1st of April, the most popular game among our works is “Rose & Camellia”.
LA-MULANA could not reach the famousness even though how much effort we put into LA-MULANA’s promotion, and the title make us realize how difficult public relations is.

“So, you can take advantage of “Rose & Camellia” for LA-MULANA’s promotion.” PLAYISM-man said at the party of BitSummit.
“Sounds good.” I said while drunk.

It was a bit troublesome though, we did make this for celebrating the 7th anniversary of LA-MULANA.

You should know how to play it.
